Safer Internet Day (SID) is an event promoted by the European Commission, which is celebrated every February with the aim of promoting a safe and positive use of digital technologies, especially among children and young people.
This year, 2026, it is celebrated on February 9th under the slogan ‘A better Internet starts with you: more connected, safer’ and an approach based on the safe and positive use of the network, addressing issues related to cyberbullying, digital identity and social networks. Various platforms such as Better Internet for Kids and organizations against illegal content on the web such as INHOPE seek to raise awareness about the dangers on the web and promote healthy and safe practices on the Internet. Malware, viruses, digital fraud, along with consent, privacy of personal data and providing cybersecurity knowledge, will be some of the topics covered this year.
